Events of Criminal Case

Meeting Penelope

The player first met Penelope in Ancient Egypt, 47 BCE, during Julius Caesar's murder investigation. Orlando confessed Penelope was more comfortable with books than people, but declared she was the only youngling who had impressed him. Penelope then revealed her findings per the stone tablet she was sent.

After arresting the killer, Penelope assisted Marina in forging Caesar's will to name Octavian as his adoptive son and heir in order to preserve history.

Murder Is No Joke

After arresting Triboulet's killer, Orlando informed Zara and the player that Penelope had gone missing. Pointing them in the direction of the musketeer barracks, Zara and the player found Penelope's bow. Orlando identified silverware polish on the bow, prompting the team to interrogate maid Gilia La Bonne, who informed the team that she had seen Penelope with musketeer Alexandre Devereaux in the banquet hall. After they found Penelope's goodbye letter to the team, revealing that she had run away with Devereaux, Zara and the player asked King Francis I if he knew where Penelope and Devereaux had gone. He revealed that he had sent Devereaux to the Ottoman Empire to speak with the Sultan, prompting the team to head to the Empire to get Penelope back.

Pride Comes Before the Fall

After arresting Vizier Ibrahim's killer, Penelope came to the team to ask them to clear Devereaux's name as the Sultan had accused him of stealing his Halime stone. After Jack and the player returned the jewel to the Sultan, they attempted to convince Penelope to come back to the team. They informed her of the risks of her staying in the past and gave her time to come to a decision on her own.

Later, Penelope informed the team that she had decided to rejoin the team and asked for the player's help in saying goodbye to Devereaux. She told him that her father was taking her away to the Americas. After Devereaux suggested that he came with her, she reminded him that his duty was to protect the King of France. The two agreed that they would never forget each other and embraced one last time. The two then parted ways.

Fake News

After arresting Tabu Kebu's killer, Penelope informed Amy and the player that Orlando had left the headquarters in a sad mood after seeing his late husband alive. She informed them that Orlando had wanted to go to Central Park to clear his head, but he had been gone for ages. Since the team was wanted by the Ptolemys, she was worried that Orlando could be in danger, so Amy and the player sought to head to Central Park to look for Orlando.

Fountain of Death

While chasing Ptolemy loyalist and time machine saboteur Ammon Bast through Medieval Asia, the team eventually had to leave Mongolia (where Ammon was) for China. Amy then tasked Penelope and Kai to stay behind and follow Ogedei Khan's army in order to get to Ammon and keep an eye on him, with Penelope chosen due to her fluency in Chinese and Mongolian.

The Wrath of Khan

During the murder investigation of Santiago Sanchez, the team learned that Penelope had figured out the reason for Theo's fading, which was because Theo's ancestor, Princess Torgoljin, was dating the "wrong" man, Santiago.

After arresting Santiago's killer, Penelope figured out that although Santiago had been death, Theo's arm did not reappear because Torgoljin had not found the "right" man, his ancestor, Chinese soldier Kong Wan Chun, and if they could arrange their dating, they could restore Theo's ancestry and regain Theo's arm. After Marina tracked Wan Chun to the Great Wall, they convinced Torgoljin to climb the Wall. There, when they met each other, they instantly fell in love. After repairing one of Wan Chun's kites, they left the couple together, hence restoring Theo's ancestry and regaining Theo's arm.
