Out with a Bang is a case featured in Criminal Case as the fourteenth case of City of Romance (Season 8) and the three-hundred sixty-sixth case overall. It is the first one to take place in the Jealousy district of Paris.
Plot
Eleonora Macaron reported to the team that a woman had been blown up in her apartment bathroom during a party she held. Hugo and the player recognized the woman to be bar owner and ringmaster Céleste Alouest.
Mid-investigation, Cody James suggested that the team search Eleonora's apartment courtyard for clues. Soon afterward, the team found a necklace belonging to High Commissioner Delacroix's drag persona in the crime scene, prompting the team to flag him as a suspect. Later, Chief Delacroix testified that his father had dropped off the necklace at the door to the apartment and that he never set foot inside. The team then found enough evidence to arrest model Noémie Leprince for the murder.
Noémie told the team that before his arrest, Antoine Macaron threatened to end Noémie's modelling career if she did not get Céleste to take a pill, knowing that he was going to lose control over his circus to Céleste. Noémie complied, not knowing that the pill contained cesium powder, which reacted with the water in Céleste's stomach to blow her up from the inside. Judge Lebrun then informed the team that they had apprehended the chemist who formulated the pill before sentencing Noémie to eight years in prison.
Post-trial, Cody told Carrie and the player that he suspected Eleonora of having another partner because she had been gifted an expensive perfume that Cody had not bought. The team then analyzed the bottle, finding Luvver CEO Samy Malouf's fingerprints on it. After Malouf clarified that it was a thank you gift for her help with Luvvfest, Cody told the team that he was being jumpy because he was planning to propose to her. The team then helped him retrieve the ring and watched his proposal to Eleonora.
Meanwhile, Hugo and the player helped Jones find a snake belonging to his friend whom he was staying with in Paris. The team then resolved to keep an eye out on Macaron as Cody and Eleonora's wedding approached.
