Events of Criminal Case

Johann became a suspect after Gwen and the player found his foam hand and learned that he was the mascot of the victim's rowing team. He revealed that he did not mix with the team members as he preferred to support them from afar. He claimed that the team was as thick as thieves and mentioned the superstition of a kraken living in the river. He, however, claimed that it was only a legend.

Johann was spoken to again about his detached head being locked in a globe. He revealed that he was a revenant, a secret that the victim had discovered after he tripped over and his head detached. Eric told the rest of the team, prompting them to steal Johann's head on several occasions. When Gwen asked him if he killed Eric out of anger, he scoffed and said that Eric's life was nothing in comparison to his eternal existence.

Johann was found to be innocent after the team incarcerated Muriel Cove for Eric's murder. Later, Gwen and the player questioned Johann about Rathimael. Johann told the team that he was unsure, although he told them that he had kept a diary in which there might have been something useful. After they found the diary, they gave it to Felix, who found several entries mentioning "The Pilgrim". "The Pilgrim"'s description indicated that they were a demon, prompting the team to speak to Johann about "The Pilgrim". He recalled an incident when a man accused "The Pilgrim" of mind reading to win a card game, resulting in "The Pilgrim" being chased away. Johann then mentioned the Highsmith ritual involving "the Pilgrim's map", which was located in the library. Gwen and the player then went to the library to find the map.
