Events of Criminal Case

Isabella became a suspect after Jones and the player found a mousepad which had a photo of her and the victim. After learning that Isabella was René's wife, the team went to inform her of her husband's death. Isabella was then shocked and cried a lot, saying that the victim was a smart man and that they had already planned all things after René retired from the university. The team then comforted Isabella and told her to call them if she could remember anyone who would wish to kill her husband.

Isabella was spoken to again after the team (per Cathy) found out that she had a fight about finances with René. Answering about the fight, Isabella explained that René always insisted that he knew best about family finances because he was an economics professor. However, she then told the team that she was really frustrated as the victim kept complaining her about the way she used the family's money, saying that she did not know to handle cash. In the end of the conversation, Jones hoped that the family finances did not lead Isabella to kill her husband.

However, after gaining enough evidence, the team found out that Isabella was the person who killed René. Admitting to the murder, Isabella reminded the team that René wanted total control over his and her finances. She then said that René had depleted all of their savings by investing in the wrong things in the stock market. Angry over René telling her to be more understanding after she confronted him, Isabella took a nearby fork and stabbed him, puncturing him in the jugular vein and draining him of blood, but regretted her actions soon afterwards. Judge Powell sentenced her to 5 years in prison.
