Hearts of Ice (Case #82, or Case #26 of Pacific Bay) is the second case of White Peaks, the twenty-sixth case of Pacific Bay, and the eighty-second case of the game.
Case Background
Hannah Choi and Heather Valentine invited Amy Young and the player to the Love Village, where romance plays an important role. The orientation of romance was cut short when the player found a famous ice skater named Juan Rodrigo Vasquez on the ice rink lying lifeless on top of an ice statue with his face sliced with a sharp blade. Following this heartless homicide, Amy and the player launched Juan Rodrigo's murder investigation which took them to places such as Juan Rodrigo's chalet and a candy shop which featured Charlotte Fontaine's Mon Petit Chocolat line of high-end chocolates.
Amy struggled to retain herself in check when Roberto Vasquez, the victim's brother, stalked her inside the candy shop in the middle of the investigation, grounds for Chief Marquez and the player to intervene to shake Roberto off Amy's tail. Amy mentally recovered to help the player incriminate Juan Rodrigo's killer as a former gossip columnist for Girly Gossips named Tiffany Neng.

Tiffany fell in love with Juan Rodrigo at one point in her life, but Juan Rodrigo broke her trust by allowing Girly Gossips Magazine to publish intimate photos of Juan Rodrigo and herself, costing Tiffany her job at Girly Gossips Magazine. Amy told Tiffany that a gossip columnist creates articles about other people's secrets albeit she didn't like the idea of Tiffany wanting to keep her personal life secret as Amy felt it would not be fair to others. Tiffany felt that Juan Rodrigo outed a personal matter that was meant to be preserved behind closed doors, which drove her to blood and gore. Amy and the player had enough of Tiffany, so the player took her to trial.
Tiffany told Judge Dante about the humiliation she experienced which led her to murder Juan Rodrigo, but Judge Dante saw Tiffany's heartbreak as an excuse to end someone's life in violence and blood. Tiffany believed murder was the best lesson for heartbreakers like Juan Rodrigo, but besides that Tiffany failed herself by showing her true feelings to Juan Rodrigo, who turned out to be a heartbreaker. Judge Dante saw Tiffany's testimony as an excuse, as he made it clear that Tiffany failed the law on top of her life, which earned her a 20-year jail sentence.
Hours after the investigation, Frank Knight asked the player to accompany him to help Désiré Bower find a medal he intended to give Duncan Young for an act of sacrifice that triggered his paraplegism. Furthermore, Frank and the player unearthed reasons as to why Duncan was incapable of serving the police force after the accident that crippled him, doubling as a motive for Amy to prove her worth as a police officer. Meanwhile, Amy and the player were ordered by Chief Marquez to talk to Roberto about the Night Walker (an evil force who was first mentioned in the case before), which was the basis of Roberto's discovery. Besides that, Duncan wanted Amy and the player to snoop on Roberto's notes regarding the Night Walker as he opted to show commitment to subdue the psycho responsible for his paraplegism years before the events of this case.

- The concept of this case was most likely inspired by the 2007 American comedy film Blades of Glory—which stars two rival men's singles skaters, much like this case. In addition, Juan Rodrigo's character seems to have been inspired by Jimmy MacElroy (portrayed by John Heder), the movie's secondary protagonist.
- Suspects who use breath spray animate (or move) at one point in some of this case's cutscenes as a result of the game's canon.
