Rivke Gelber (Heb: רבקה גלבר) was a suspect in the murder of Irish immigrant Harriet Patrick in Slash and Burn (Case #2 of Mysteries of the Past).

Rivke is a 30-year-old bereaved woman. She has messy blonde hair and dons a black veil on her head. She dons a black dress, is usually seen carrying around her late daughter Esther's doll, and is covered in soot.

Events of Criminal Case
Rivke became a suspect after the player and Isaac got reports saying she was attacking the victim's cousin, Mary Patrick. When they got there, she was accusing the victim of being a murderer. When asked why she would say that, she said the victim lost her family because of her and that she started the fire. Isaac saw she was clearly overcome with grief, so he and the player left her alone for now.
Rivke was spoken to again about the victim's cow, which she locked up in a crate. She said she locked the cow up because it started the fire, kicking over an oil lamp in the market. She was sure she saw it with her own eyes and demanded the cow gets its punishment. Isaac had trouble believing her story, and requested that she go somewhere safe, though she refused.
In the end, Rivke was found to be innocent after the team incarcerated Colin James for Harriet's murder. However, they later got reports that Rivke was still by the scene of the fire and will not evacuate. She said she was trying to look for her daughter's doll, since it was all she had left of her family, so the player and Isaac decided to search for it. After they found and repaired it, they returned it to Rivke, who was thankful that they found it. She had also spoke of some strange person who threw a metal box before she saw the cow tip the lantern, then ran from the fire. Isaac thought this suspicious as well, but did not wish to waste time investigating her claims, so Rose decided to accompany the player to investigate Rivke's claims.
