Death Without Parole is a case featured in Criminal Case as the twenty-fifth case of Mysteries of the Past (Season 4) and the one-hundred ninety-sixth case overall. It is the first case to take place in the Coyote Gorge district of Concordia.
Plot
Maddie and the player visited Stonewall Prison to investigate the Italian influence on its premises. After Warden Jeremiah Shankshaw allowed them to enter, they found the body of prisoner Kev O'Connell bludgeoned to death and his finger severed.
During the investigation, the team caught prisoner Colin James hiding in a gold mine after he escaped the prison. Later, they stopped a mutiny at the prison. The team then collected enough evidence to arrest Shankshaw for the murder.
After denying involvement, Shankshaw admitted to the crime. Stating that as the Italian gang wanted to rid Stonewall Prison of Irish gang members, the gang ordered Shankshaw to eliminate O'Connell. Receiving threats of harm to his family, Shankshaw bludgeoned O'Connell to death with an iron bar, then removed one of his fingers with a knife. As Shankshaw refused to give further details, Judge Lawson sentenced him to 25 years in jail.
After the trial, as Isaac and the player investigated and disproved bounty hunter Catastrophe Joan's rumours about the team's weapons specialist Rose Zhao, Maddie and the player investigated the Italian gang's true influence over Stonewall Prison. The player found evidence that several prison employees were members of the Italian gang. Judge Lawson removed all gang members from the prison staff, appointed a new warden to run the prison, and transferred Finley Flanagan to the prison. having cleared the prison of Italian influence, the Concordian Flying Squad decided to go to the town Devil's Ridge to further investigate the Italian gang's outside the prison.
