Events of Criminal Case

Felix became a suspect after Zara and the player found his handkerchief in a pile of the victim's cannonballs. He identified himself as the surgeon on the ship and was surprised to learn about the murder. He wondered who would keep the crew safe from the pirates and told the team that the victim would often lend him and extra pair of hands whenever he was needed.

Felix was spoken to again about his debt to the victim. He informed the team that he had lost multiple games of whist against the victim, resulting in him losing his entire savings. He told the team that without his savings, all that he had left were his tools and the clothes on his back. He then revealed that the victim had refused to help him ease his debts.

In the end, it was proven that Felix was Barnabas' killer. Felix told the team that after the party the previous night, Barnabas requested a shave from Felix. However, the boat rocked against the port, causing Felix's hand to slip and the straight razor to slit Barnabas' throat. Felix then hid the evidence of his mistake to protect his career. Captain Shadrach granted Felix clemency for the homicide; however, for his concealment of the crime, he was to be flogged and removed from the ship's roster.
