Eduardo "Eddie" Ruiz, appearing as a minor character in Criminal Case, was mentioned during the events of Ice Rage (Case #43 of World Edition) and Murder, He Wrote (Case #44 of World Edition).

Profile

Eduardo was an Argentine man who worked for SOMBRA as early as the 1950's, usually involved in expeditions and missions in Antarctica. He had curly brown hair, a mustache, and a beard. He usually wore a sienna brown safari uniform. Michelle said that she had met him before and that he died a few years prior to the case, presumably of a heart attack.

Events of Criminal Case

Michelle said that she had read some case files about SOMBRA's previous expeditions to the South Pole during her time within the organization. She and the player found a computer with information about SOMBRA's expeditions to Antarctica around the year 1970, led by Eduardo, who was a high-ranked operative.

Michelle and the player asked archaeologist Ernest Emerson about Eduardo, and he claimed to have met him a handful of times. Ernest also mentioned that Eduardo and his colleagues had been working on a project they had set in Antarctica around the year 1950 (twenty years before the electronic database's records). Michelle and the player investigated the penguin research lab and found a newspaper article saying that the Argentine government had cancelled one of SOMBRA's expeditions, forcing them to return to the country. That led the Bureau to go to Argentina to investigate SOMBRA's origins.
