Events of Criminal Case

Dwayne became a suspect after Maddie and the player found his patient file. He was shocked upon hearing about the murder, saying that the victim had helped him stop hearing the voices in his head. He then said that he was leaving the asylum soon, but would be sad to leave as the gardening group was peaceful and that there were plenty of mushrooms to eat.

Dwayne was spoken to again about his tinfoil hat. He explained that the victim had confiscated it, and that he had made it to protect himself against the victim. When questioned why he said that he liked the victim, he said that he only said that because "they" were listening to his thoughts. He recalled a chess game he had with the victim, and that it was only by his cunning that he managed to avoid his lobotomy blade, revealing that the victim wanted his brain.

In the end, Dwayne was proven to be Irving's killer. After admitting to the murder, Dwayne said that the victim wanted to lobotomize, or cut away, parts of Alice Riddel's brain. Not wanting that to happen, Dwayne lunged at him during his electroshock session and hooked him up to the machine and set it to the highest setting as possible and left him there. In court, Judge Lawson confirmed his accusations and had forensic psychiatrists determine if he was responsible for his actions and administer therapy to him.

  • In Dwayne's mugshot, he buttons up his jacket.
