At the Chior fashion show...
Carrie James: <Name>, I can't believe we got to see the festivities for Paris fashion week!
Hugo: And now you're sitting front row in the Grand Palais for the Chior fashion show!
Carrie: Yeah, and on top of that, we get to go to the after-party on a boat on the Seine river! So cool!
Carrie: I've got friends in the States who would KILL to be in my place!
Hugo: Hey, keep your voice down - you don't want anyone to get any ideas!
Carrie: Ha, true. Oh, it's starting!

The show begins...
(The first model smiles to the audience.)
(The second model smiles to the audience.)
(The third model smiles to the audience.)
(Noémie smiles to the audience.)
Charles: And now the genius behind Chior, chief designer Charles Pilsnerfeld!

After the show...
Carrie: Wow, those looks were incredible! And Noémie Leprince looked fantastic in that dress!
Hugo: Indeed! Hey, <Name>, let's head to the after-party at La Vie en Rose before everyone drinks all the champagne!

One hour later, outside the after-party...
Carrie: This is gonna be so cool! I've never been to a party on a boat before!
Hugo: There are lots of boats like this in Paris, with bars and restaurants on them. In French we call it a "péniche."
Carrie: Uh, I think if you told an American you were going to a "péniche party," you'd have to clarify what you mean!
Hugo: Ha-ha, you're right, it's a bit of a double entendre.
Hugo: Yes, it's no wonder the phrase "double entendree" is French. Sexuality here seems... heightened compared to the United States.
Hugo: I've been meaning to ask how you've adjusted to that. The sexual energy here in Paris can be a bit strong sometimes. I hope it's not too overwhelming.
Carrie: No, on the contrary! It just feels like people are more open about their feelings! It's a welcome change.
Hugo: That's good to hear. Oh, here comes the Chior CEO Simone Lemaitre. It must be time to go inside!
Simone: <Rank> <Name>, it's horrible!
Simone: Charles is in the péniche, and I think he is DEAD!
Hugo: What?! What happened?
Simone: I don't know, I just arrived, but the sight of his body made me feel faint! I left as fast as I could!
Hugo: We will take care of this, Madame Lemaitre. <Name>, let's head inside and see what's going on!

Chapter 1

Investigate Chior After-Party.
Hugo Mercier: Wow, <Name>, it looks like Monsieur Pilsnerfeld drowned!
Hugo: His jacket is torn in the back, but Madame Lemaitre told us she was too scared to touch him.
Carrie: So that tear must have come from him struggling against someone holding him down! This drowning was unquestionably murder!
Carrie: Wow, another murder case so soon! I've still got a pile of paperwork to file on the last one <Name> and I solved!
Hugo: Don't worry, Carrie, <Name> and I can handle this case. And at least you got to see the boat from the inside. Pretty swanky place, eh?
Carrie: Definitely! I guess I'll just have to wait longer to have my first péniche party. <Name>, I'll see you back at the station. As the French say, bon courage!
(Carrie leaves.)
Hugo: Okay, back to business. What other clues do we have?
Hugo: These plastic pieces you found look like a broken CD.
Hugo: It takes some effort to break a CD. Whoever did it must have been trying to hide something! Which indicates it could be from our killer! Let's reassemble it!
Hugo: And we'll need to question Madame Lemaitre further.
Hugo: Paris Fashion Week is certainly ending with a bang!
