Events of Criminal Case

Ayanchin became a suspect after Jack and the player found his merchant's sack at the palace. After trying to offer his wares to the team, he told them that he only knew the victim because she received his deliveries at the palace. He claimed that she was always cold to him and then wished the team good luck in their investigation.

Ayanchin was spoken to again about the victim's refusal to pay him. He revealed that Tangzi had claimed that the animals he had brought her were substandard and proceeded to tell the people of Karakorum that he was a swindler, affecting his business.

In the end, it was proven that Ayanchin was Tangzi's killer. After a particularly bad winter that took his good animals, Ayanchin was fired by Tangzi before she started badmouthing him, causing him to lose even more business. He had begged Tangzi to stop, but Tangzi said she would report his inadequacy to Ogedei Khan. Fearing the Khan would behead him, Ayanchin shot her with an arrow. Ogedei then banished Ayanchin from Karakorum.
